1.
What the intensity of all great dance love songs imply to the listener that ballads simply cannot is the intensity of feeling that comes from being close to someone, the excitement, the anxiousness, even the mild amount of discomfort that that can bring. Dan Hartman's lyrics capture that perfectly.
2.
See "Love Sensation"
3.
Find em on the internet, they're horny.
4.
The lyrics were written by the singer, Peniston, when she was in college, originally conceived as poetry. I'll admit that I originally misheard the lyric "the way I feel about you it just can't be wrong" as "it just gets me wrong" which is a bit spicier, but it's still a love song that doesn't feel insincere (seems to be the theme of this collection) and that does help the vocal quite a bit.
5.
I like the reference to "Ain't No Mountain High Enough" since it's the sort of thing meant to connect it to a legitimate Pop music legacy, followed immediately by "I'm making techno and I am proud", literally asserting the validity of the music he's a part of.
6.
Fun love song with some new age-y lyrics that are really well suited to Haddaway's voice. Haddaway's a great singer in my opinion.
7.
Details are sparse, but the lyrics give the impression of a relationship that isn't as close as it ought to be, with the singer begging for a deeper level of affection from their partner, and feeling frustration that the depths of their emotion is not understood by the person being sung to. It's a really beautiful song to me.
8.
The rewritten lyrics to this for the Namie Amuro version are, of course, romantic, a little bit purple, just a great example of J-pop lyricism. The original song is a little less subtle and a little more horny, and the chorus seems to imply that the idea is to "Try Me" instead of "all your others", so perhaps the person being sung to is already committed in some form or fashion. In any case, like many great eurobeat tracks, this is about longing.

about

"Evil Disco" is a phrase that the late Wayne Static coined to describe the hard-hitting industrial groove of his group, Static X.

Partially inspired by his memory, Evil Disco is a covers collection of dance music . . . classics? Hits. Let's go with hits. Some of them are classics. My god we actually put 2 Unlimited on this. Compiled, performed, and recorded by WOLFHYMN, it seeks to add heavy electric guitar to the mix of the songs chosen as though they were part of the original arrangement.

The low-budget, spontaneous recording process was as follows: an mp3 of the song was converted from youtube, then uploaded into audacity. To track the guitars, we pointed a Blue Snowball in the general direction of a Line 6 Spider II and a Line 6 Spider V running in unison, and recorded two tracks for the left and right channels.

From there we massaged the guitars a little bit of EQ, and the only mixing was setting the levels. To master the record we tried to make sure the mixes don't peak out too bad. You're welcome.

The guitars were tracked with a really cheap Harley Benton 7-string (C or Bb F Bb Eb G C F), except "I Don't Know Anybody Else" and "Finally" which were recorded with a Schecter Diamond Series Omen 7 (G or F C F Bb D G C) that was probably a few hundred when it was made but was really cheap by the time it ended up here in the studio.
