"Broken Heart" is maybe my favorite song by my favorite Eurobeat artist, Norma Sheffield (an artistic persona whose songs are sung to this day by studio singer Chiara De Pieri).

Norma Sheffield is a unique entity in Eurobeat whose songs focus more strongly on the dreamy, romantic aspect of Eurobeat. As such, "she" was a feature act in the earlier days of the genre, which was still more or less a form of 80's europop, but after the tectonic shifts in the genre aesthetic created by Domino's "Tora Tora Tora", Norma's songs gained some of the energy of that new sound. "Broken Heart" captures the perfect marriage of the later Hard Eurobeat and the earlier Soft Eurobeat, as we would describe them. (I highly recommend seeking out the Norma Sheffield album Sweet Heaven that compiles all of her major hits through 1994, around when the "Tora" revolution occurred.)

Details are sparse, but the lyrics give the impression of a relationship that isn't as close as it ought to be, with the singer begging for a deeper level of affection from their partner, and feeling frustration that the depths of their emotion is not understood by the person being sung to. It's a really beautiful song to me.
