about
This is one of the classic eurobeat tracks. Released not long after the genre re-defining "Tora Tora Tora" by Domino, it follows that track's new standard for the genre, that is to say, a fast tempo, a relentless beat, and a ridiculous, over the top synth hook that's best described as aggressive. There's plenty of great eurobeat, but this track is simply inspired, with the house piano hook coming in and out, the synth horn stabs, and the amazing lead synthesizer going off with licks on every verse. Add the glass-shattering vocal work of Annerly Gordon and you have what can only be described as a banger of the highest order.
We took that and added metal guitar to it. Obviously.
lyrics
The rewritten lyrics to this for the Namie Amuro version are, of course, romantic, a little bit purple, just a great example of J-pop lyricism. The original song is a little less subtle and a little more horny, and the chorus seems to imply that the idea is to "Try Me" instead of "all your others", so perhaps the person being sung to is already committed in some form or fashion. In any case, like many great eurobeat tracks, this is about longing.
